You're probably familiar with regular Employment Insurance
benefits, which provide financial support
when people lose their jobs.

...But what if you recently had a baby
or adopted a child...

...or if you're too sick to work...

who is gravely ill.

...Then you may be eligible for special types of
Employment Insurance benefits.

...For example, maternity and parental benefits provide
people with financial support after they give birth,
adopt a child, or begin providing care
to a newborn baby.

...Mothers can receive up to 15 weeks of benefits
to recover from having a baby.

...On top of that, parents can also receive up to 35 weeks of
benefits to care for and bond with their child.
