Service Canada 'reaches out' to Rogersville

Service Canada “reaches out” to Rogersville
October 26, 2005
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
ROGERSVILLE, NEW BRUNSWICK — Service Canada is now open for business in Rogersville. Starting Oct. 26, an employee of the Service Canada Centre in Miramichi will be on hand every Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. at the Community Services Site in Rogersville to serve residents of the area.
“Our presence is the result of a productive partnership with the Rogersville community,” said Laurent St-Cyr, Director of In-Person Services for Service Canada's New Brunswick Region. “Positive partnerships bring results, and now we are starting to generate this same sort of involvement in other rural communities. It paves the way for Service Canada to bring federal government programs to everyone, no matter where they live.”
St-Cyr explained that Service Canada was launched in the spring by the Government of Canada as the means to deliver a wide range of programs and benefits in the most efficient way possible.
“We deliver far more than Employment Insurance, Old Age Security and Canada Pension Plan. In fact, we can help people find the information they need on just about any federal government program,” he said. “In some cases it's simply a matter of showing them how to navigate our Web site or find phone numbers.”
“Service Canada really means more Canadians having better access to more services,” St-Cyr concluded.
