Appealing a decision
What if I do not understand or if I disagree with a CPP decision that affects me?
If you do not understand or if you disagree with a decision that affects your benefits, you have the right to an explanation. If you contact us immediately, we will explain the reasons for our decision.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you can ask us to reconsider the decision. To do this, you must send a letter to your Service Canada regional director no later than 90 days after you receive notice of the original decision.
For the mailing address for your region, please visit our Web site or contact us.
If you are still not satisfied with the Service Canada decision on your reconsideration, you can appeal the decision. If you would like to know more about the appeal process, please contact us.
