Disability Award
The Disability Award provides immediate financial support for pain and suffering from a condition resulting from your military service.

Eligibility Information
Applicants must be one of the following:
- a Canadian Forces (CF) member or veteran with a service-related injury or disease, or a non service-related injury or disease that was aggravated by service;
- a survivor.
Other criteria may apply.
Financial Information
- For 2011, the maximum Disability Award is $285,319.47. It is adjusted annually based on the cost-of-living index.

Related Information
- Applicants do not need to qualify for a Disability Award to qualify for some of the other benefits under the New Veterans Charter.
- The Disability Award is not linked to the Rehabilitation Program; therefore, applicants can participate in the Rehabilitation Program, but not qualify for a Disability Award.
