The Joseph-Armand Bombardier Canada Graduate Scholarships Program - Master’s Scholarships provides funding to students who are pursuing full-time studies at the master's level in the social sciences and humanities field.

Eligibility Information
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- be Canadian citizens or permanent residents of Canada
- have achieved a first-class honours, as determined by their university, in each of the last two years of full-time study or equivalent
- be pursuing their first master's degree and not have completed more than 12 months of full-time graduate study at the proposed start date of the study period covered by the scholarship
- have met all the requirements of their bachelor's degree at the time the scholarship is granted
- have not received funding for master's-level studies from the SSHRC, the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC), or the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR)
- not be under SSHRC sanction for misconduct relating to funding or research
- not be applying in the 2009-2010 academic year for funding from the NSERC or the CIHR
- other criteria may apply
Application Information
- Candidates who are currently registered at a Canadian university that has received Canada Graduate Scholarships (CGS) funding must apply directly to their university.
- Candidates who are currently registered at a foreign university or at a Canadian university that has not received CGS funding must apply through SSHRC.
- Candidates who are not currently registered at a university should contact the Program for information regarding the application process.
Dates and Deadlines
- For candidates registered at a university, the university establishes the application deadline.
- For candidates applying through the SSHRC, the deadline for the 2009-2010 application period was December 14, 2009. The application deadline for 2010-2011 has not yet been announced.
