Canadian Agricultural Income Stabilization (CAIS) Program
The Canadian Agricultural Income Stabilization (CAIS) Program provides agricultural producers with income protection against both large and small declines in farm income by offering them funding in years where their production margin falls below their reference margin.

Application Information
Financial Information
- Agricultural producers must pay an annual fee, which is a percentage of their protected reference margin.
- Producers who participated in the Program in 2003, 2004 or 2005 do not have to pay a fee for these program years.
Dates and Deadlines
- The deadline to apply for the 2007 CAIS program and to pay the related fee was November 30, 2007.
- The deadline to submit the form entitled Harmonized CAIS Program Information and Statement of Farming Activities for Individuals - 2006 to the Canada Revenue Agency without incurring penalties is 30 September 2007.
- Individuals have until 31 December 2007 to submit the form but will have to pay a penalty.
