Canada Summer Jobs 2012 - Before You Start (Applying Online)
When you access the online application, the first screen will display the Articles of Agreement, followed by the questions within the application.
You must carefully read the Canada Summer Jobs (CSJ) Articles of Agreement and the Applicant Guide. Please print these documents for your reference. These Articles of Agreement are the terms of a contribution agreement that will be created should your request for funding be approved. The Applicant Guide was developed to assist you in completing your CSJ application.
By submitting an online application, you declare you have read and understood the Canada Summer Jobs Articles of Agreement and the Applicant Guide and declare that the job(s) would not be created without the financial assistance provided under this initiative.
1. It will take approximately 45 to 60 minutes to complete and submit the application
- To ensure you have all required information, please refer to page 7 (Section 4.0) of the Applicant Guide.
- If mandatory information is not captured on a screen, you will receive a prompt in red.
- At any time during the application, you can view a summary of your previous answers using this button at the bottom of each page:

2. Final summary is available to print before submitting your application
- After completing the application, a summary of the questions with the answers you provided will be available to print. You must print the summary before submitting the application.
- To print the summary, please use the print button on the Content toolbar of your internet browser, displayed by a printer or by selecting Print when accessing the File option from the Content toolbar.

- IMPORTANT: You will not be able to print the application after it has been submitted.
- After reviewing and printing the summary of the questions and answers you provided, you must select “Submit to Service Canada” at the end of the summary, to confirm that this is your finalized application.

- An electronic message confirming successful receipt of your application will be generated by the system. This will be considered as the acknowledgement of receipt of your application.
- Please print and retain the application submission confirmation number. You will need to use this in further communications with Service Canada.
- As you are submitting your application online, it is possible that a signature will be required later.
3. Technical Notes
- The questionnaire has been accessibility tested for adaptive technology and complies with the Treasury Board of Canada’s Common Look and Feel policy.
- Timeout: We would recommend that your application be completed within 20 hours.
- The information you enter cannot be saved and accessed at a later date/time.
- Browsers: This application is supported by most common browser types including Microsoft Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox and Safari.
- You will be able to enter the complete legal name of your organization. If funding is approved, cheques will be generated with the first 44 characters of the legal name.
- It is recommended that you use the mouse or the TAB key to move through the application. Using the ENTER key may activate the Page Summary button. If this occurs, use the BACK button at the bottom of the application to return to the previous screen.
