Steps to register for Record of Employment on the Web (ROE Web)

Required Registration Documents for Employers

Whether you are responsible for completing ROEs for a small, medium, or large business, or if you are an accountant, bookkeeper, or payroll processor, follow these steps to register for ROE Web.

Important: Are you a non profit organization or association? Please call the Employer Contact Centre for additional instructions.

  1. COMPLETE - Complete and sign the Registration Form where you authorize the Primary Officer (PO) to take responsibility for the administration of the ROE Web program on behalf of the organization.
  2. VISIT – Have the PO visit a Service Canada Centre for authentication. They should bring the completed Registration Form and two pieces of identification one of which must have a photo, such as a driver's licence, Canadian passport or employee identification card.
  3. ACTIVATE - Upon receipt of the documents, Service Canada will create a business account and send an email to the PO giving him/her access to the ROE Web evaluation/training environment site. Within 20 business days, the PO will receive, by mail, the ROE Web Internet address and the activation code to be used to log in to the ROE Web application for the first time.

    To complete the activation process, the PO will:

    • go to the ROE Web Internet address to access ROE Web;
    • obtain a Government of Canada epass (if the PO does not already have one);
    • accept the ROE Web agreement online and create their professional profile.
